BANJO
I have been having discussions about the field or "buzz" numbers and the use of color on the cowling and/or spinners of military PT-22s. I understand that the "buzz" numbers were for field identification but I cannot explain why Mather Field in California used an "I" in front of the number. I don't believe color was used in the military on the cowl or spinners. My impression is that that is a civilian adaptation and is a personal choice. Can anyone shed any light on this topic??
