Starter options

Jack, there are two (2) electric starter options that I know of. The Eclipse Y-150 and E-80. Unfortunately they are hard to find and expensive when found. A mechanic could probably fashion a mount for a SkyTec

starter and submit a 337 form to the FAA for approval. Not sure if anyone has tried this.

The hand-crank works off the same mounting pad as the electric starter. You would keep the handle in the baggage compartment and it fits through a hole in the left side cowling. It is direct-drive, not inertia. I prefer to hand prop mine. Wedging myself between the prop and landing gear seems dangerous to me.

Good luck.
