From the Antique Aircraft Association posting on Feb. 4th: We are saddened to report the passing of AAA lifetime member and retired APM Director, Melbourne J. "Mike" Wilson (94) of Cedar Rapids, IA. Mike was a fighter pilot (P-38 & P-39) in WWII, a successful businessman (Wilson Honda), a legendary motorcycle builder, racer, record holder (American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame inductee), sought after expert on Ryan PT-22 and Kinner engines, pilot, mentor and friend. Mike, along with the love of his life Margaret (deceased), were long time volunteers and donors here at Antique Airfield & the APM . We will miss Mike's counsel, help and boundless enthusiasm for life but imagine he is once again walking hand in hand with Margaret down a flightline somewhere, greeting old friends with a smile and a wave.
