Paul281
Well, I was doing a routine cleaning and inspection for oil leaks and found a broken cylinder to case stud on the # 5 cylinder of my R56. Sheared off right at the base. Not sure how long its been that way, ( the studs end is shiney) but I try to look around quite frequently. It is a short stud next to the long one that holds the lifting eye. Anybody else had this happen? Not sure of the last time it was torqued down but I wonder if the nut was tightened down while hot? Just something to watch out for. The manual recommends replacing all the studs on this base. Any thoughts? Paul Bretanus PT-22 N56026 Deer Park, Tx.
